New Balance to Launch Co-Branded Kids Footwear Collection with Peanuts for Fall 2009

New Balance and United Media, the licensing and syndication arm for PEANUTS announced today they will offer a co-branded kids footwear collection that creatively blends the most beloved characters from Charles M. Schulz's popular strip with New Balance's heritage running style – the 574.

"We are so pleased to form this exciting co-branded footwear partnership that will enable us to introduce authentic and distinctive kid's shoes to the marketplace," says Sanna Makela, kids product manager at New Balance. "New Balance and PEANUTS share brand qualities and core values that make this a great partnership – including strong brand history and heritage."

Available for October 2009 in infant, pre-school and grade school sizes, the collection brings some of PEANUTS' most popular stories to life; It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Christmas. Each shoe is constructed with premium materials for comfort and breathability and features EVA cushioning in the midsole and heel and a solid rubber outsole for support and durability. Fun PEANUTS character detailing elements include a soft tongue lining, vibrant colors, eye-catching embroidery and embossing on the upper. Customized packaging and tissue paper as well as point of purchase displays will highlight the product at retail. Suggested retail prices are: $38.00 infant; $48.00 pre-school, and $60.00 grade school.
