New Balance Announces Partnership with All-Star Hanley Ramirez

Ramirez autographed game-worn New Balance cleats to be auctioned off to benefit The Marlins Foundation

Global athletic leader New Balance announced today the signing of All-Star Hanley Ramirez to a multi-year endorsement contract. New Balance will be Ramirez’s official on-field footwear and off-field athletic footwear and apparel provider.

To launch the partnership, Ramirez will auction off a pair of his custom New Balance cleats worn on opening day, with all proceeds benefitting The Marlins Foundation, an organization committed to improving the lives of youth through education, the arts and baseball, with a special focus on children with special needs. This season, Ramirez will be wearing a special make-up of the New Balance 4040 baseball spike. A lightweight, low-profile cleat for the fastest player on the diamond, the MB4040 offers high performance running technologies to eliminate spike pressure and provide an athlete superior comfort and fit on the field. A new spike plate design eliminates 30% of the weight compared to the previous spike plate and a supportive overlay on the upper secures the foot during quick movements on the field. “The 4040 is light and comfortable, I feel speedy, and they also look good. New Balance has the whole package,” says Ramirez.
