JEANMARIE'S STORY - Jeanmarie McCarthy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006. She has run the New York City and Boston Marathons as well as several half marathons in New York City. In the Spring of 2009, Jeanmarie ran the Susan G. Komen North Jersey Race for the Cureᆴ and placed second among cancer survivors. She went on to race at Ellen's Run in Southampton, New York in August 2009 and was the cancer survivor first place winner. Even during her treatment, Jeanmarie continued to run 4 miles every day. After battling with cancer, Jeanmarie developed a new perspective on mental and physical health. She believes that it is important to work out for at least 40 minutes 5 - 6 times a week and follows a healthy, balanced diet. She realizes the importance of having a positive attitude and treats every day as a gift. Jeanmarie and her husband, John, have two daughters, Erin and Elizabeth.
