JO PAULA'S STORY - Jo Paula Lantier was first diagnosed with breast cancer in July 1996 and attended her first Race for the Cureﾮ in October 1996.ﾠ In 1997, she began volunteering with the Race.ﾠ She has worked on various committees including survivor recognition, grant administration, public relations, as well as race chair and co-chair for 3 years.ﾠ She has been a member of the Board of Directors and recording secretary for the Board.ﾠ Jo Paula is still an active volunteer with Race office operations.ﾠ The Komen Board nominated her for Team New Balance and believes that she exemplified the spirit of survivorship and volunteerism.ﾠ She has been married to Robert Abel for 34 years and is the mother of Karynne, age 26 and Hannah, age 19.ﾠ
